Sunday thoughts from a Fibromyalgia mind #18/1

If you are new to reading my blog Sunday thoughts from a fibro mind are just a small update on my inner thoughts from the week usually typed out with my Sunday morning coffee and some of the images from my phone. (If I have any from that week)

I have totally neglected Sunday thoughts blog/my end of the week musings for some time, apologies if you missed them, Here is the first one of 2018, hence #18/1

If you follow me on Facebook you will already know this week has been a flare week for me, it happens, it passes so now I just accept it and wrap my body in love and understanding while it heals.
Initially, I thought I was getting a cold, a virus, a bug, but nope it was my good friend Flare. ( I actually do have a friend called Fleur, we grew as teenagers together)

I learnt this friending trick from depression. I treat the dark times now as I would a friend rather than a zombie apocalypse. Fighting back is so bloody draining so I learnt to welcome it. Thankfully the dark days are few and far between now.

So much joy has been found this week from the small moments. I harp on about noticing the small things in your day so much but it really is a coping mechanism I want to share.

Tommy our tortoise has given me so many smiles this week. He is such a funny little character to watch. My darling little introvert that plods through life and when it all gets too much he retreats to his shell or his wooden man cave.

The Goldfinches that come and feed in my garden each day bring me smiles, such beautiful little birds.

Do you notice the small moments?
The here and now?
Do you practice mindfulness as an aid to assist symptoms with Fibromyalgia?

Here are two good books to purchase if you would like to start.

Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams and Danny Penman

The Headspace Guide to Mindfulness & Meditation: 10 minutes can make the difference: 10 minutes can make the difference by Andy Puddicombe

Lots of family time this week as my five sons were all home on Monday. I love them all being home together. It was amazing as my Mum was here also so we all sat around the dining table and had our tea (evening meal) together. There is so much funny banter when my sons and my Mum are together, laughter is a great therapy.

I look at them and feel so much pride.

This is them on Monday, I would have sold my soul to have a brother so they are all lucky as they have four each.

Today, Sunday I am feeling a little better and really looking forward to my Dad calling later for his cuppa and weekly catch up and then my roast dinner. Sunday is a blissful day at our house.

I truly hope your week has been beautiful and the week ahead is filled with new reasons to smile.
I will find a way to make sure this week is wonderful at my level of energy.
