CBD Patch by Premier Biomedical Pain Management Solutions

If you are new to my blog and simply landed on this review let me give you a brief introduction. I am a mother of five sons, I studied RGN Nurse training back in 1992 and also a VTCT qualified complementary therapist Level 3 (Aromatherapy, advanced massage therapist, and advanced reflexology) I am also a lady that can no longer practice my profession due to chronic illness so I prefer to use my expertise to write about complementary and alternative therapies for chronic illness so that others may gain a better insight into the power of combining complementary therapy with conventional medicine.

Daily I suffer from fibromyalgia so I was delighted to participate in the review of a product that claims to help,
  • Relieves Pain and Inflammation.
  • Has Antipsychotic Effects.
  • Reduces Anxiety.
  • Helps to Fight Cancer.
  • Relieves Nausea.
  • Helps Seizures and Other Neurological Disorders.
  • Lowers Incidence of Diabetes.
  • Promotes Cardiovascular Health.
This sounded way too good to be true! I had to have a look and see what this product contained that was so worthy of the claim.
Being an admin of a very large Fibromyalgia group I know first hand that there are so many ladies that have no idea what it is, how it is used and what for so I thought it best to start by explaining what CBD is.

CBD is the abbreviation of cannabidiol, this is a cannabis compound with healing properties.
Most people have heard of a chemical called Tetrahydrocannabinol THC which is the principal psychoactive constituent eg is the ingredient that gets users high.
Unlike THC, CBD does not cause a high.
CBD is non-psychoactive because it does not act on the same pathways as THC. These pathways, called CB1 receptors, are highly concentrated in the brain and are responsible for the mind-altering effects of THC. Although CBD and THC act on different pathways of the body, they seem to have many of the same medical benefits.
Is CBD legal?
Unlike THC, CBD does not cause a high so it is now completely legal in many places.

I am based in England and CBD is not covered by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 or the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 but please check your country and/or state law accordingly.
What is CBD for?
  • Relieves Pain and Inflammation.
  • Has Antipsychotic Effects.
  • Reduces Anxiety.
  • Helps to Fight Cancer.
  • Relieves Nausea.
  • Helps Seizures and Other Neurological Disorders.
  • Lowers Incidence of Diabetes.
  • Promotes Cardiovascular Health.

"I have been given this product as part of a product review through the chronic illness bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company."

I was asked by the chronic illness bloggers network to review CBD Topical Hemp Oil Patch  by Premier Biomedical Pain Management Solutions

I was so excited to try out this product as I have always thought how amazing a CBD patch would be. When it arrived I was shocked by the size, I am not really sure why but I imagined it would need to be much larger. It reminded me of a nicotine patch yet this was filled with wonderful sacred goodness. My excitement was not about to cloud my judgement as I really wanted to give my true honest opinion.

As you can see by the packaging there are a few other ingredients, all delightfully yummy stuff such as:
  • Cannabidiol (CBD) — CO2 extracted decarboxylated Hemp cannabidiol (CBD) with natural Hemp terpenes and flavonoids. The proprietary formulation of inert aromatic ingredients and enhancers boost the effectiveness and efficiency of the CBD blend.
  • Hydrogenated coconut oil with unsaturated fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids).
  • Heavy chain components of coconut oils are added for temperature stability.
  • Lecithin (a source of phosphoric acid, choline, fatty acids, glycerol, glycolipids, triglycerides, and phospholipids).
  • Aloe Vera (ALOE BARBADENSIS MILLER or similar species) – decolorized gel from the plant leaf containing monounsaturated oleic acid (an omega-9 fatty acid).
  • Sweet Almond oil (a natural skin enhancer).
  • Phytochemical oils (such as Red Palm Oil).
  • Oleic acid (skin penetrant and enhancer)
  • Red Palm Oil (a high beta-carotene content vegetable oil giving a red colour. A natural excipient and enhancer used to promote absorption of the CBD)
  • Shea butter containing fatty acids: oleic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid,
  • Sunflower oil extracts.
  • Persea gratissima oil (Natural excipient and enhancer).
  • Eucalyptus oil (a preservative with antibacterial effects on pathogenic bacteria with anti-inflammatory cytokine inhibition).
  • Sage and citrus essential oils (used for their aroma and antibacterial properties).
  • Nano crystalline C particles.

Once opened the first thing that sweeps you off your feet is the smell, Oh wow it is like Earth had made her very own perfume just for me.

I adore the earthy rich aroma of this patch. I would wear it for the smell alone!

Inside the super easy to open the pack you are given:
  • A CBD patch
  • Instructions and information leaflet
  • Alcohol wipe
The patch needs to be applied to the most painful area but it does give a general overall effect on the body. As I have horrendous pain, spasms, electric type sharp pain in my right arm, this was the place for me. I am due to have another steroid injection soon in that arm so it has been troubling me lately.

Once applied the patch is comfortable to wear and stays put. I have very sensitive skin so I was very surprised that there was absolutely no irritation, must be all the natural ingredients. The patch lasted well through baths and sleep movements. To be honest, after the three days it still looked freshly applied.

Once removed there was no red mark or nasty glue deposits on my skin. If you are sensitive to adhesive, me too and this was fine on my skin.

So what are my views on this as a method for treating my personal medical conditions:

Now, this is where is becomes complicated for me as a single parent family costing is always the biggest factor for me. I need to always put the needs of my family before any decisions I make regarding where the family finances go.  As a daily treatment for Fibromyalgia, sadly it would not be within my budget.

It is super easy to use, natural, pure and allergy free product so I am sure it would benefit many people looking for a natural method of controlling symptoms without the side effects of conventional medicine.

Initially, my thoughts were that I never felt the wow factor, I expected a wave of calm or some difference in the way I felt and I never received this. Maybe over time, my body would have balanced and I would have gained more benefits.

But... and this is the big one.

I always re-read blogs to my sons before publishing and they all shouted out in horror by my summary.

"Mum, this is the closest you have been to feeling like old you in ages! You have walked with us with no pain and seemed so calm and pain-free when moving. You have been totally different, no nausea or anything, how can you say that it is not amazing!"

It is often easy to become desensitised to our illness and expect fireworks in the sky with new products. I do believe the patch must have worked on my pain levels and general symptoms as during the 96 hour period I did overexert a lot, yet it was ok and didn't cause a flare.

I have slept better with no spasms of pain.

I have had no migraine.

I have not needed ANY other pain relief at all the past few days.

Maybe CBD is the route for me.

Do you use CBD patches?
Please comments and let me know how you find them as an effective method.

Love and gentle hugs to you all
