The impact of colour on mood with chronic illness.

The universe is permeated with colour and it is said that the colour around you can have a direct effect on your mood. The impact of colour on mood is widely recognised not just by us spiritual folk. It is not a new therapy at all or something created by Dulux paint it dates way back to prehistoric humans and nature.

Colour therapy harnesses the seven colours of the spectrum to correct imbalance or disharmony within our bodies. It can also be used as a catalyst for the bodies healing process. In order to assist in balancing the person as a therapist, we must be able to ascertain the colour required in order the balance the colour energies.

The energy from birth, existence, and death of stars, galaxies immense amount of energy is produced. Things such as radiation, x-rays, radio waves are referred to as the electromagnetic spectrum. It travels in waves and without boring you with nanometers you just really need to understand that as well as having its own wavelength, each colour has a certain frequency, the rate at which its waves vibrate. Our eyes translate the energy of light into the nerve impulses which the brain then interprets as colour.

Have you ever had a cat sleep on your bed at night and you notice that just as you are about the fall asleep the cat purrs?

This is because as you become very relaxed, your body's electromagnetic energy changes emitting a pale blue light that is visible to cats. The cats find this colour pleasurable as it makes them feel safe and so they purr.

Colour is simply a form of visible light, of electromagnetic energy. All the primary colours reflected in the rainbow carry their own unique healing properties. The sun alone is a wonderful healer! Just imagine what life would be like without the sunshine. It has been proven that lack of sunlight contributes to depression for some people.
