Fibro Soothe by ProHealth review

If you are new to my blog and simply landed on this review let me give you a brief introduction. I am a mother of five sons and a VTCT qualified complementary therapist Level 3 (Aromatherapy, advanced massage therapist, and advanced reflexology) I am also a lady that can no longer practice my profession due to chronic illness so I prefer to use my expertise to write about complementary and alternative therapies for chronic illness so that others may gain a better insight into the power of combining complementary therapy with conventional medicine.

Daily I suffer from fibromyalgia so I was delighted to participate in the review of a product that claims to help, comfort and soothe aching muscles and joints, supports normal joint response to exercise, helps with sleep and mood plus it contains nine specialised herbs and nutrients. This sounded way too good to be true! I had to have a look and see what this product contained that was so worthy of the claim.

Being a fibromyalgia blogger and someone with their toe in the alternative medicine pond I am quite up to date on what can be used to treat medical conditions naturally. This product seems to have a selection of some of the most up to date supplements in one product. When trying to gain the best possible benefits from herbs and natural supplements it can become very costly and confusing buying each one separately, I have tried so I know by personal experience.

I was very impressed at this stage and super excited to try this formula for myself.

"I have been given this product as part of a product review through the chronic illness bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company."

I was asked by the chronic illness bloggers network to review Fibro Soothe by ProHealth

"Fibro Soothe by ProHealth is a specialised formulation of herbs and other nutrients designed to help support a healthy inflammation response while also addressing joint and muscle discomfort. This combination of nutrients is specially formulated to help support cartilage and joint function.*

Fibro Soothe contains Boswellia serrata Wokvel®, Turmeric Longvida®, DL-Phenylalanine, Ginger, Devils Claw, Ashwagandha, Bromelain, Papain, and Turmeric Powder." (Source)

Important Advice: Not to be used during pregnancy.

Each capsule contains :
  • Curcumin Longvida the active ingredient in turmeric, has notable anti-inflammatory properties that may promote soothing comfort in muscles and joints. Longvida is 65 times more bioavailable than regular curcumin.
  • WokVel® Boswellia also known as Indian Frankincense or Guggul, was widely used in the ancient Indian practice of Ayurvedic medicine. It is a tree resin known for its ability to soothe joint, muscle and connective tissue discomfort.
  • Devil's Claw is an anti-inflammatory herbal treatment which can help switch off inflammation, is widely used in Europe to relieve pain.
  • Ginger helps support pain relief due to inflammation or muscle soreness. It has strong anti-inflammatory properties that studies show may rival the benefits of some popular medications.
  • Ashwagandha Ashwagandha, also known as Withania somnifera is another key herb used in Ayurvedic medicine as a remedy for pain, stress, fatigue, and more.
  • DL-Phenylalanine inhibits the action of an enzyme that breaks down endorphins and enkephalins. These are proteins that bind to opioid receptor sites in the brain, thereby influencing the perception of minor discomfort that is associated with normal physiological processes. By obstructing the action of this enzyme, DPA may extend the life of endorphins and their positive influence on comfort levels.
  • Bromelain an enzyme found in pineapple, is a powerful inflammation response supporter. It has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties.
  • Papain an enzyme found in papaya, aids in the digestion of proteins and helps support proper inflammatory responses in the body.
If you read all that and thought but there are lots of things there for inflammation and this has nothing to do with inflammation please read on as new research is now suggesting that inflammation in the brain (neuroinflammation) could be the cause of the amplification of pain signals in the brain seen in fibromyalgia. Very recently Swedish scientists figured out a way assess levels of inflammation in the brain, by sampling the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. Because the CSF is in constant contact with the brain, it mirrors what is happening in the brain.

"This is the same principle the Swedish researchers used in sampling the CSF in fibromyalgia: any inflammatory chemicals in the “brain juice” must have gotten there by being absorbed from the brain tissue. And what they found was that the CSF in fibromyalgia subjects contained much higher levels of inflammation compared to healthy people. In particular, there were very high levels of certain chemicals secreted by neurons (brain and nerve cells) in response to injury."  (Source)

The capsules are a moderate size, not too large so it is ridiculous trying to swallow them, these ones went down with ease and no nasty aftertaste. I have past horror stories with some brands of Turmeric and the after effects once swallowed, throat burning acid burps are no joy let me tell you!

Having all the supplements in one dose is so handy for fibromyalgia people like me, I like things to be stress-free and easy, this includes supplements and medication.

We currently have nothing like this is the UK, a tablet that is aimed completely for Fibromyalgia and certainly not at this price. The price at writing this blog is  $25.99  so roughly £20 in British money. I currently pay this for just one of the list of ingredients in my local health shop!

As most of my readers are American based this is super and I am a little jealous that you can get this product so easily delivered to your door for just $5.99 Shipping Information

It is obtainable to be shipped to the UK but additional fees are added.

Do you use Fibro Soothe? I would love to know how you are getting along with it, has it made any changes to your life with fibromyalgia and/or eased any symptoms?

For me, it is a little too early to tell if it has had a massive improvement on my day to day symptoms so I will keep you posted of any changes over time. Herbal and natural supplements cannot be rushed.

Love and gentle hugs to you all

  1. I'd not come across this before but I'm glad to see shipping to the UK is available because I agree that nothing similar is really available here. Interesting to see a breakdown of the ingredients too! x

    1. Thank you so much, glad I helped shine a light on something xxxxx
